Why choose Kennedy Town

Kennedy Town feels more residential than the districts immediately west of Central. The waterfront, Belcher Bay side and streets around the station give the area a slower rhythm, while still keeping the Island Line simple.

People choose it when they want to be west, near the water, and less tied to Central after work. The trade-off is distance from the main office core: the ride is still direct, but you are at the end of the line rather than one or two stops away.

For HKU students, Kennedy Town is especially practical. HKU station is one stop east on the Island Line, and some university buildings are also reachable by a short ride or a walk from the station depending on the campus entrance.

The area can work well for someone who wants a clearer separation between work and home. Central is four stops east, so the commute stays straightforward without making the district feel like an extension of the office core.
