Why choose North Point

North Point is more local and residential than Causeway Bay, with a strong older Hong Kong street pattern around Java Road, King’s Road and the waterfront. It is a district for people who want the eastern side of Hong Kong Island without losing direct rail access back toward Central.

The main distinction is between the busier King’s Road spine, quieter residential streets behind it, and the harbour-side blocks. The trade-off is choosing whether you want street activity, a shorter walk to the station, or a more waterfront-oriented routine.

North Point is also useful for people who need the Tseung Kwan O side. The Tseung Kwan O Line starts here, giving a direct rail route to Quarry Bay, Yau Tong, Tseung Kwan O and Hang Hau.

For HKUST students, North Point is one of the clearer Hong Kong Island options. Take the Tseung Kwan O Line from North Point to Hang Hau with no interchange, then continue by bus, minibus or taxi toward the campus.
